Entrepreneurial Resources for Veterans

Like all successful missions, small business ownership starts with training. That’s why SBA empowers service members, veterans, National Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses with entrepreneurial trainings and resources right in their local community. Through a network of partners and grantees, SBA offers specialized training programs for women veterans, service-disabled veterans, and veterans interested in federal procurement.

Government Contracting for Veterans

The federal government’s goal is to award 3 percent of all federal contracts to service-disabled veteran-owned businesses (SDVOSB) each year. Additionally, the Department of Veterans Affairs awards set aside contracts to veterans through their Veterans First Contracting Program. Their program is not the same as SBA’s program. Veteran-owned businesses must be verified through the Vets First Verification Program to get access to set-aside Veterans Affairs contracts.  Join us to find out more!

Access to Capital for Veterans

Acquiring capital to fund a new business idea or sustain an existing venture can be challenging for service member, veteran, and military spouse entrepreneurs. From identifying lenders to developing a financial roadmap, SBA’s Office of Capital Access, District Offices, and community resource partners can help guide these small business owners through the many stages of understanding their business’ financial picture and accessing capital – like loans, microloans, or grants – to support it.

  • Access to Capital for Veterans (Zoom)
    Thursday, November 4 I 1100 – 1200 (CDT)
