ISLAND BIZ
Aloha, everyone! Summer is a good time to catch up on your reading.
Small business owners know the importance of keeping up on the latest trends, rules and regulations, and innovations. Local business periodicals, such as Pacific Edge, Pacific Business News or Hawaii Business, are a good source of information and a way to
tap into to solutions for the business challenges that you face.
Business books provide another source for inspiration and perspective. Many entrepreneurs have their favorite ‘go to’ business books. Some are serious; others present the topic in a humorous light. The objectives are to provoke thought, share knowledge
and experiences and provide you with a roadmap to avoid the traps and pitfalls you encounter in managing your business.
One of my favorite business book authors is Hawaii’s own Guy Kawasaki. A marketing specialist, author and Silicon Valley venture capitalist, he has authored over 15 books. His most recent books are
The Art of the Start 2.0: The Time-Tested, Battle-Hardened Guide for Anyone Starting Anything (2015) and
Wise Guy: Lessons from a Life (2019).
Don’t pack your bags and vacation this summer on the Island of One! Your business peers have faced the challenges you are struggling with. The answers are out there!
Enjoy your summer!
