SBA Recognizes Area Lenders with Special Designations
With these designations, SBA increases equitable access to capital for small businesses, while providing entrepreneurs with more options for faster service by locally-focused lenders.

On Thursday, April 14, SBA Central and Southern Ohio District Director Everett M. Woodel Jr., Deputy District Director Terry Bolden, and Lender Relations Specialist Jerome Jones traveled to the offices of North Valley Bank to announce that the bank is now designated
an SBA Preferred Lender. The PLP designation is held by only 23 of Ohio’s 192 SBA-affiliated lenders. North Valley Bank also is designated as an SBA Express Lender & SBA Export Express Lender.
“North Valley Bank is consistently at the top of the SBA Central and Southern Ohio District’s list of high-performing community banks,” said SBA District Director Everett M. Woodel Jr. “Since 2015, the bank has originated more than 60 SBA-backed 7(a) loans
totaling approximately $72 million. In addition, North Valley Bank helped keep the Ohio small business community afloat during the pandemic by originating over 960 SBA-administered Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans. Receiving this designation will enable
the bank to further provide much-needed capital and SBA-backed resources to Ohio small businesses as they move beyond the COVID-19 crisis.” North Valley Bank is headquartered in South Zanesville and has offices in Buckeye Lake, Corning, Malta, Mount Sterling,
New Holland, and Zanesville. In addition, North Valley Bank has an office in Columbus dedicated to SBA-backed loan operations.

On Thursday, May 26th, District Director Everett M. Woodel, Jr., Deputy District Director Terry Bolden, and Lender Relations Specialist Jerome Jones traveled to Dublin, Ohio to the offices of Community Capital Development Corporation (CCDC). At CCDC, District
Director Woodel presented the Corporation’s President, Laura Frum, with a plaque commemorating CCDC’s certification as a participant in SBA’s Accredited Lenders Program (ALP).
“The U.S. Small Business Administration is proud to present the Accredited Lenders Program Designation to the Community Capital Development Corporation,” said District Director Woodel. “In recognition of the Corporation’s outstanding leadership of and service
to the Ohio small business community, as well as its many years of dedication to the region’s economic development, the SBA has certified the Corporation to act as its agent to package, process, close, and service SBA 504 Program loans.” The ALP designation
is given to Certified Development Companies (CDCs) that have reached a high standard for processing and servicing Small Business Administration (SBA) 504 Loans. Only about one-third of CDCs have reached this level of commitment and service.
