This August, The Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce’s virtual learning series featuring SBA Delaware small-business-building webinars continues with free-of-charge webinars introducing the HUBZone federal government contracting program and the 8(a) Business
Development Program.
The HUBZone Program fuels small business growth in historically underutilized business zones with a goal of awarding at least 3% of federal contract dollars to HUBZone-certified companies each years.
The 8(a) program offers contractual assistance, financial assistance and management and technical assistance to firms that are owned and controlled at least 51% by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. The federal government’s goal is to award
at least eleven percent (11%) of all federal contracting dollars spent stateside to small disadvantaged businesses – a category that includes 8(a) firms – each year.
Registration is required to participate.
