For almost six decades, the SBA has been commemorating National Small Business Week (NSBW), shining a spotlight on the crucial contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business proprietors. The NSBW Awards honor the remarkable accomplishments, victories, contributions, and resilience of SBA-supported small businesses that play a pivotal role in propelling the American economy forward.
To put forth a nomination for a small business owner or to access relevant forms, criteria, and guidelines, please visit sba.gov/nsbw. All nominations must be electronically submitted by December 7, 2023, no later than 3 p.m. CST. The awards ceremony will take place during the NSBW Awards event in Washington, D.C., spanning from April 28 to April 29, 2024.
Kansas City District is accepting nominations for various award categories, including but not limited to:
- Small Business Person of the Year
- Small Business Exporter of the Year
- Phoenix Awards for Disaster Recovery, including:
- Phoenix Award for Small Business Disaster Recovery
- Phoenix Award for Small Business Disaster Recovery – Mitigation
- Phoenix Award for Outstanding Contributions to Disaster Recovery, Public Official
- Phoenix Award for Outstanding Contributions to Disaster Recovery, Volunteer
- Federal Procurement Awards, which encompass:
- Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year
- Small Business Subcontractor of the Year
- Dwight D. Eisenhower Awards for Excellence (for large prime contractors utilizing small businesses as suppliers and contractors)
- 8(a) Graduate of the Year
- Awards dedicated to SBA Resource Partners, such as:
- Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Excellence and Innovation Center Award
- Women’s Business Center of Excellence Award
- Veterans Business Outreach Center of the Year
- Small Business Investment Company of the Year
